Flower Shop 30th Birthday Party

Hello!

I haven't blogged in a while and it's been even longer since I've shared about our recently parties!
If you follow this blog (Or my instagram) or know me personally, then you may know my sisters and I love to throw and decorate for parties. A thirtieth birthday party for our last baby sister is almost expected after the one we threw for my older sis - haha actually for her 31st (HERE!) and then the one they surprise threw for me on my 29th! (HERE!!)

We also like to do things on a budget but make it look like we went all out. Flowers are EVERYTHING. If you spend a little extra on real flowers, the party will look amazing. Also, the more simple and chic you make it, the less "stuff" you need to fill the space. Maybe that is just our style but more is less on our tables..

We had a sweet girl, Esther Kirilyuk, of Esther Kirilyuk Photography (if you are local, check her page out!) photographed the party for us (so we wouldn't go crazy and miss out on anything) but I also enjoyed snapping a few pics.

We wanted to have a flower shop feel for the theme, and the flowers were decoration but also used as favors for the guests to take home- they each got to arrange their own bouquets to take home. I loved seeing how the guests picked color palettes and every single one looked stunning. I was so happy with the result!

Another very memorable detail to add to any party: have the guests be involved in making their own favor to take home! At my sister's 31st, we had a simple macrame lesson and made hanging mini macrame plant holders! At my surprise party, my sisters set up the most creative tea making station, complete with dried flowers, herbs, green teas, etc. I still think about the tea I made sometimes because it was so amazing haha!

July is an awesome time to have a flower shop party because where we live, that is where the most flowers are in a full bloom! I was able to get amazing dahlias from a local seller and cut my own sunflowers from a local field.  Even though summer is coming to an end... (I am having end-of-summer blues & in denial) this party is totally adjustable and can work for a lot of different seasons! Can you imagine the beautiful fall colors you can incorporate for a fall themed florist shop??! Trader Joes will always have your back, in the end, for all the extra fillers and pretty spay roses and hydrangeas year round!

Enough talking: Enjoy the beautiful pictures! 30 exactly! :)

Happiest birthday to our baby sis!!!

My Surprise Birthday Party!

Hello friends!

I don't even have the words to describe my gratitude and appreciation to my sisters (and dear friends) for surprising me with the most wonderful birthday party I could have ever asked for. So much of my favorite people all in one place and the thought and careful planning that went into each detail: It makes my eyes tear up! The feeling of #blessed is real, guys! The people in our lives are so much greater then all the s t u f f. It's hard to step back sometimes and see the blessings. Hope you all hug and love on those blessings around you today. Text those forgotten friends a sweet message. Reach out to a family member that you haven't heard from in a while. Don't lose those people in your lives! They are worth more then money can buy.

If you have been following me for a while, you know my sisters and I love to party ;) meaning, we love throwing parties, planning parties, decorating parties. (The coffee sipping, eating and chit-chatting kind of parties) This time my sister asked Tania from Lavender Dreams to come photograph the party decor (and US!) and I just really had to share the images! She is just magical. (GO CHECK OUT HER PAGE! If you are in central Virginia or Northern VA, you must book a session!) She also photographed me with the poppies last spring which is my favorite photo session ever. See it here!

Hope you enjoy the photos! Thanks again to all my family and friends that made this birthday so special and memorable! Love you guys!

The cutest "tea" station complete with little baggies to make your own tea. Loved it.

And thanks again to Tania for these wonderful pictures! So happy to have these memories and little details to remember forever.

With love,
Viktoria

Happy 2014!

Happy New Years!!

I hope you met the new year with loved ones! Do you feel hopefulness and joy for the new beginning that you have been given?! I hope you do! I hope you have also set New Year Resolutions. I was working on them little by little trying to think of ways to improve on all areas of my life, including this blog! I believe if you don't set goals and plans for improvement, than you won't strive and aim to achieve them.

I didn't write any down last year but had the same usual ones in my head.. To be a better mom and wife. To read more, pray more, and use my phone less.. I think that a lot of you had/have the same resolutions. They aren't bad but since they are so vague, I don't know if I achieved them in any way at all. Am I a better wife? A better mother? I resolve to be more specific in my resolutions. :) This year I wrote them down. Where will my phone be off-limits? What will I change in my attitude towards my husband? How will I aim to spend more purposeful time with my kiddos? Than we will be able to see how far (or how little) we have grown..

2013 was a blur. Am I being cliche in saying time flies?? I have to say I don't remember much of it. I worry that means I didn't cherish the time.. But I will always remember 2013 for one reason. It gave us an incredible gift from above: our third child. God has blessed us and continues to bless us regardless of our inadequacy. We are the most undeserving to receive them. I look at our baby girl's face and feel God's presence. His utmost LOVE for us through this sweet precious child. Where else can she have come from??

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights... (James 1:17)

From God alone...

There aren't words to describe our joy. I think if you are a mother you understand!

We rarely get professional pictures done (said with great sadness) so I thought I would share these wonderful pictures taken of baby girl in the hospital. Instead of taking the usual traditional baby photo, the hospital had a photographer come in and professionally take pictures. She was there with us for like 10 minutes and produced these wonderful photos of our day old baby girl! How wonderful it would be to be a photographer! Sigh. It doesn't take much time to snap the photo but it takes skill to do it right, and you forever have created a beautiful image.

Welcome baby girl. You are greatly loved and adored!

The last one is my favorite and the one we used on our birth announcements. :)

Isn't she the most beautiful baby girl you have ever seen?? I may be biased.. Or maybe not ;)

Here's to a new year! New adventures in parenting, new memories and reasons to laugh and cry and create and the joy in the gift of life!

Have lots to share and can't wait! Two Christmas parties and a Parisian Garden Baby Shower! (Which happens to be the one my sisters threw for me!) Not to mention more DIYs and refashions!
